This international tournament, now in its 68th edition, will feature teams from four vibrant countries: the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, and Puerto Rico. Over seven action-packed days, 13 live games will be played at the Estadio Panamericano in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. MLB Network's coverage, presented by DirecTV, kicks off with a bang: Mexico (Green) vs. Puerto Rico at 2 p.m. ET, followed by the Dominican Republic vs. Mexico (Red) at 8:30 p.m. ET. Get your snacks ready because from February 2nd to 6th, you'll be treated to two live games each day! The grand finale, the Championship game, is scheduled for Saturday, February 7th, at 8 p.m. ET.
But here's where it gets interesting: MLB Network is no stranger to the Caribbean Series. They covered it in 2009 and 2010, right at the network's launch. And now, they're back with an exclusive broadcast for viewers in the United States. This collaboration between MLB Network and the Miami Marlins, along with the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation, is a multi-year partnership that began in 2023. The Marlins and loanDepot Park are set to host the Caribbean Series again in 2028, solidifying their status as a hub for international baseball. In fact, their 2024 hosting saw record-breaking attendance figures, with the largest total tournament attendance and the highest single-game crowd.
The 2025 Caribbean Series, the 67th edition, was a thrilling event held at Estadio Nido de las Ánguilas in Mexicali, Mexico. Led by the legendary Albert Pujols, a three-time NL MVP, the Leones del Escogido from the Dominican Republic claimed the Championship by defeating the Charros de Jalisco of Mexico in a nail-biting 1-0 game. This victory marked the Dominican Republic's fifth win in the Caribbean Series, extending their nation's lead with a total of 23 championships in the series' history. The Caribbean Series has a rich history, dating back to 1949, and has featured many Hall of Famers and MLB All-Stars, including Rod Carew, Miguel Cabrera, Roberto Clemente, Edgar Martínez, David Ortiz, and Iván Rodríguez.
And this is the part most people miss: MLB Network's international coverage goes beyond the Caribbean Series. Over its 17-year history, the network has aired a plethora of international baseball events, such as the World Baseball Classic in 2009, 2013, and 2017, the MLB Taiwan All-Star Series in 2011, the Australian League Championship Series in 2012 and 2016, the MLB Japan All-Star Series in 2014 and 2018, La Serie de las Americas in 2015, and the upcoming Choque de Gigantes tournament in 2024.
