Jessica’s case spotlighted critical gaps in early diagnosis and prompted the health authorities to act.
So, what exactly does Jess’s Rule stipulate? It instructs family doctors to reconsider their initial assessments if a patient has visited the surgery three times for the same or worsening symptoms without receiving a diagnosis. The goal is simple: encourage practitioners to think twice, review their initial conclusions, and consider more thorough investigations or alternative explanations.
