EXHORDER's upcoming album will feature songwriting contributions from former CANNIBAL CORPSE guitarist Pat O'Brien. In a recent interview with The Chill Dude On A Couch, EXHORDER vocalist Kyle Thomas discussed the band's progress on their new material. Thomas, who also fronts doom metal legends TROUBLE, revealed that he's currently writing and recording vocals for TROUBLE's new album, which is nearly complete. This project is a challenge due to an upcoming tour, requiring Thomas to balance his commitments. Despite this, EXHORDER is still working on new songs, having completed their two-year promotional cycle for 'Defectum Omnium'.
Thomas shared that bassist Jason VieBrooks and drummer Sasha Horn are collaborating on new material, with plans to record demo versions. The songwriting process in EXHORDER involves VieBrooks contributing the majority of the music, which Thomas finds manageable given his busy schedule. Thomas expressed gratitude for VieBrooks' contributions, acknowledging the pressure of being the sole songwriter. He also mentioned that Pat O'Brien will provide music for the album, excited about his input and the potential for songwriting collaboration.
The band will embark on a U.S. headlining tour, the 'Unforeseen Circumstances Tour 2026', starting in January 2026. EXHORDER's latest album, 'Defectum Omnium', was released in March 2024 and featured ominous cover art by Travis Smith. This album followed their critically acclaimed 2019 release, 'Mourn The Southern Skies'. EXHORDER's history includes a U.S. tour in late 2021, where they performed their debut album, 'Slaughter In The Vatican', in its entirety. The band has faced some changes, with guitarist Marzi Montazeri leaving in 2022, and original guitarist Vinnie LaBella departing in 2020. EXHORDER's evolution showcases their resilience and commitment to their music, with Thomas as the sole remaining founding member.
